Default Rear diff. Fluid

Last week I had a new gasket put on my rear, and the guy that did it told me I don't need the friction modifier for it because it doesn't have clutch packs or anything. It was starting to leak and I was getting the shudder when turning from a stop, and I'm still getting it with the new fluid. What I'm asking is do I need the modifier or not I don't want to mess anything up that I don't have too

If your signature is correct, than you shouldn't have a limited slip they only came with trucks with the 3.55 or 3.73. Therefor you don't need the additive.

What is your axle code on your drivers side door jamb?
