Default overhead console issues

my brother has an 01 screw, and his overhead compass/temp display doesn't work. we've tried a total of like 5 units, which we know all work cause we tried them in my truck. anyone got any ideas where to start looking? we've checked the fuse already.

Make sure there is 12 volts on the white/light blue wire at the console with the key on.

If the fuse is good (fuse 23, 10 amp in the inside fuse box) find the wire near the fuse box, make sure it has power there and cut it and over lay it up to the console because it must be broken somewhere. Turn the key off before cutting and overlaying. No one likes to see sparks while they're wiring.
