97 F150 Rear End Questions
Hello All,
Forgive me for asking (i've searched and don't see a post with the answer)
I have a 97 F150 4x4 8.8 rear end I believe the gear ratio is 3.55 I'll have to check when the truck get's towed to my house tomorrow. Unfortunately the rear differential self destructed, gasket blew out and from what the differential shop told me the carrier is gone, planetary's are gone, pinion is dead etc.
They want more money than I have to repair her, so I'm trying to decide my best option and price wise it seems to replace the rear end with a known working seems best.
Question is:
Are there any other rear ends out of say a f250 or 350 non super duty I could put up undernearth the truck? I don't 4 wheel with it just my daily driver.
Also if anyone knows where I can get a rear end in the Seattle area I would greatly appreciate it.
