Really annoying squeak!

Really annoying squeak!
Hello! I'm new to the club. Had no idea there was a group out there for these trucks, but I'm not well versed with computers. I'm hoping one or more of you can help me with a problem on my 2003 Heritage.
I have a terrible squeak that would appear to be coming from my left front wheel. I originally thought it was the drive belt, but after replacing that, and paying a little more attention, the noise seems more speed related than RPM. I never hear the noise while I accelerate, only when going steady or slowing down. It sound like rubber on rubber, or rubber on steel. I've had a couple of people tell me it is either the front wheel bearing, or the seal itself (thought it was a sealed bearing). Truck is 4WD. Is this a tough install? Any one that may have some info on this would be held in the highest honor.

Are you sure? It's a constant squeak, and doesn't change a bit while turning or going over bumps. You can hold the steering wheel dead straight, and it will make the same sound.

Easy way to see if the wheel bearing is shot is to take the tire off and just turn the hub by hand back and forth if you hear some noise then problem solved. As far as the replacement of the bearing goes it isnt very hard at all take the tire then the caliper and rotor off from there you take the three bolts off the back and the abs sensor off with an allen wrench. You will need a 35mm? socket I think it is to take the wheel nut off give the cv a couple gentle taps to loosen it up from the bearing and wallah. But if your truck is anything like mine you will surely run into problems

If its constant then no its not your ball joints....I must have miss read your post...But what you have would be considered a squeal

It could be the seal.
Try squrting a little WD40 around the back of the hub where the CV shaft goes in.
That stopped my squeak.
When mine started, it would come and go while driving. It almost sounded like a belt squealing.

That is exactly what it sounds like! Problem is, it's coming more than it's going now. Is there a seal that can be replaced? I thought that was a whole sealed assembly.
