Default Random crap I'm doing to my '03 Lariat SuperCrew

So yeah, I got this truck about three weeks ago. Already planning out how I'm going to make it mine. The short list is:
  • Tint front windows
  • Rewire and switch the fog/accent lamps on the grille guard
  • Upgrade to dual exhaust
  • Rhino liner
  • Stereo upgrade (Pioneer AVH-X4500BT, under seat sub box in back, nothing super crazy, just something you can really enjoy down the highway)
  • Maybe head/tail light updates
  • Cold air intake
  • Add LED footwell lighting
  • Add cabin air filter
  • Gauge upgrade (maybe just some tasteful overlays or something like that)
  • Bed lighting

Here's how she looks now:

I got the stuff I needed for the in-dash part of the stereo work yesterday: head unit, RCA cable, rearview cam, harness, and brake bypass. So in theory, this weekend, I'll be all fancy and stuff in the dash. Note, no sub or amp or anything yet, though I'm going to go ahead and run the RCA and remote switch for it while everything's apart so I don't have to rip it apart a second time.

I also realize that this went into the wrong forum on accident. Doesn't look like I can move/delete it on my own. Mods, feel free to move this over to the Member Builds section if that's more appropriate.

The 4500 Pioneer is a great unit. I have on in my Mustang I just installed a couple months ago. Great unit. You'll be happy.

Is that a 2wd?

As far as your ambient lighting, you can get a controller and some RGB bulbs without flash, and you can make your color choice any of 16 or more. It costs about $15.00 total off ebay, but you have to wait about 15=20 days for delivery. Works like a charm, comes with remote controller, makes the system work great. Good luck with your build up.

Great. That was the one that seemed to stand out in my research that didn't require me to feel guilty about what I was spending on it, heh. Also, I'm an Android guy, not iPhone, and this unit seemed to stay pretty friendly with it's capabilities in that regard. My big hope is that the navigation integration works as well as it appeared to in their demo video (the map sharing app, not the actual nav unit add-on), because I hate having to hold my phone while driving for that.

Ultimately I'm gonna do a single 12" sub under the back seat tied to it. As noted, nothing crazy here. I'll probably upgrade the door speakers as well at that point too.

Yeah. Not a big deal for me, as 99% of my driving is city/highway anyway. The only exception is taking the boat out for fishing, but pretty much everywhere I do that at has ramps, so I can make due.

Sounds a lot like this deal: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-your-displays. I ordered one for my TV, and I know there are various versions that work any number of different ways but with similar results.

Get some lightning headlights and tail lights for it. They'll look good on it.

Interesting. Of course, makes perfect sense now that I look at it.

I think I'm gonna order some strip LEDs to do under the top of the bed lip too to light up the bed at night for when I'm out camping or fishing and such.

If you're wanting black lights these are the way to go, the black housing gives you that dark look, but the clear lens does t kill the light output like those smoked ones would. I have them on mine and love the quality and output.
