Default Question about fuel pump

SO, 2000 Expedition, if I take my fuel filter off, and turn the ignition on, fuel should squirt out of the supply line to the filter, correct? Also, does the 2000 Expedition have a Fuel Pressure Module on it?

Thanks

So, here is my issue. Fuel pressure at idle is 28 PSI and holds there until I rev it up. The fuel pressure slowly drops to around 10 at 4000 rpm. Bad fuel pump??

Leave the filter attached to the supply side and see if it shoots out. If not you may have a fp failure.

At idle you should be higher. Fp is done. Imho

This is true. First see if filter is clogged up.

Thanks for the replies. Replaced the fuel filter before checking pressure. Fuel pressure holds steady at 28 PSI, with the vac line connecteed. Only goes up to 39 PSI with the vac line off

When I rev it up, then it drops pretty fast to 5-10 at 4000 rpm.

Does this vehicle, 2000 Expedition 5.4, have a Fuel Pressure Module on it?

I also have a P-0452 error code. Is that completely separate from the fuel pressure issue?

It has a fuel pressure regulator up at the fuel rails if that is what you are after.

Thanks, but no. Some had a FPCP fuel pump control module, located someplace in the rear

The module you're thinking of is in the '04-08 trucks, not the 1998-2003 trucks.

Yep. They are tucked up above the spare tire on the 04-08 and had a corrosion problem.
