Just remembered you will also need either a L Water Pump or Electric Cooling Fans as well. The L Water Pump has a longer neck on it which spaces the mechanical fan further out so it doesn't hit the blower belt. MadEnterprise used to sell a spacer you could use but he has since passes away. Having EFans you remove mechanical fan so it's not a issue then.

RIP Mike!

Default Putting a supercharger on a stock 192,000 mile 5.4?

My swap was done on my truck at about 100-150,000 km, it runs 8lbs of boost on a cold day and I've noticed no issues now at 245 k, listen to Wayne and Carcrazygts they know their stuff, there's still some things on my L swap I need to do that wasn't done by the previous owner like oil separator and EGR delete, plus it could probably use a new tune. I'm starting to save now for a rebuild in the hopefully distant future with forged pistons and rods. Take it from me if it's done right it makes your truck alot more fun to drive and can even turn it into a sleeper like mine. Good luck!

So here is my question(s) for Carcrazygts2 and for Z7What:

If I had a complete HD SCREW and wanted to swap it into my Lariet SCREW 4x4 how would I handle the transmission? I have a SCT live wire that I can pay somebody to make programs for if necessary, but will the 4R100 bolt up to my trans case? I am assuming that I would have to get custom driveshafts (or maybe something from an excursion or expedition will fit)

Basically a Local National cat that lives in the same town as me got rear ended and it will cost more than what the insurance will pay to fix it over here, as there are just no parts available to fix his with (bed tailgate and rear frame up to the spring mounts) so he is looking at parting it out.

it has all of the HD emblems and external cues, though I have not looked under the hood to verify that it is indeed a HD model and not just a sticker tune. I was considering buying it and swapping everything over from it in regards to motor, cooling, harness, etc. any suggestions? I am looking at stock boost for the time being, just to get things rolling and will consider upgrades later.

As I said before I would personally just start saving and start collecting parts to build a motor or start saving to buy a short/long block. This way your not out of a vehicle. Just a FYI N/A Block, Heads, Cams, Crank are just fine to use. Going with Forged Rods and Pistons I would suggest!

You will need much more than the parts you listed.

Just off the top of my head your going to need

*Blower with Boost Bypass Actuator(I suggest 01-04, see notes next to Intercooler as to why)
*Mid Plate(I suggest 01-04, see notes next to Intercooler as to why)
*Intercooler(I suggest you get a 01-04, the 99-00 were known to leak. A 99-00 is fine if it is the updated one. If you getting a 99-00 or 01-04 you will need to get the same 99-00 or 01-04 Blower, Lower Manifold and Midplate)
*Plenum
*Intercooler Hoses( Can just buy hoses and run them how you want or get OEM hoses)
*Intercooler Hard Lines(These are the hard lines that run along the passenger side of the blower, they aren't needed if you run your own intercooler hoses, if you use OEM hoses you will either need them or put a piece of hose in its place.
*Intercooler Pump
*Intercooler Pump Bracket
*Intercooler Pump Pigtail
*Intercooler Reservoir
*Heat Exchanger
*Heat Exchanger Bracket
*90MM MAF
*170* Thermostat
*IAC Tube
*Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
*42# Injectors
*Intake
*Intake Elbow
*Intake Manifold(01-04)
*IAT2 Sensor
*EGR(if you plan to run one, I suggest deleting it as it makes for a much cleaner install and makes changing the plugs much much easier. If you delete you will need a EGR Block Off Plate to block off EGR port on plenum and a 3/4 Garden Host Cap to block off port on exhaust manifold)
*Throttle Body
*Oil Separator
*Tranny Shift Kit
*Custom Tune
*NGK TR6 Plugs
*Lower Pulley
*Blower Belt
*Blower Belt Bridge with pulleys and tensioner
*Alternator
*Alternator Bracket
*Throttle Cable
*Cruise Control Cable
*Throttle & Cruise Control Cable Bracket
*TB to Plenum Gasket
*Plenum to Blower Gasket
*Blower to Midplate Gasket
*Midplate to Lower Manifold Gasket
*Lower Manifold Gasket
*Misc Vacuum Lines(No need to use OEM Lightning Lines, the lines you have now can be used, just need to know how to run them and what to hook what too.

That's all I can think about right now. The list seams long but most of the parts can easily be found on the Lightning Forums for decent prices.

A friend of mine that I mentioned above with the Whippled Harley has his stock Blower(With Lightning Upper Pulley), Midplate, & Plenum For Sale. IIRC the blower does NOT have the Boost ByPass Valve on it, pretty sure I removed it and used it on the Whipple. I know he had a bunch of other stuff like Gaskets and other Misc parts for sale also. Just not sure what he has left. The blower has 27K miles on it and was ported 5K miles ago. The porting was done by Posi Performance(Well known for his magic in the Cobra world, it also has the silencer holes filled.) The midplate was also ported by Posi Performance. The Plenum was ported by another Lightning Forum member and then was Hydrodippled in Carbon Fiber, the ribs were polished then cleared. He is asking $900 Shipped for it. If you want I can see what else he has and yall could possibly make a deal for everything. He doesn't know much about this stuff which is why I do all his work so he may not know the names of the parts he has to even give me a list.

Here is some pics of the blower.

Why are we arguing and bringing an ancient thread up?
The original poster isn't even a member anymore and doesn't own an F150 Even..smh

Why is somebody arguing it? possibly since this thread is a couple of years old he was bringing new knowledge forward without realizing that the OP was no longer around

The old thread was brought up to keep knowledge in one place when searching, that is how you operate a forum when you are trying to share knowledge.

You search for a thread with similar if not same questions, see if they have been answered, and then keep at it adding to that thread so that when somebody comes along 2~3 years later looking for the info, they do not have to clutter up the forum with multiple threads

even if the original poster is no longer on this forum, by bringing it to the top people who might have knowledge are more apt to chime in......smh

well if Jackie is actually a white guy living in japan like I am we might be!

When chan is pronounced in japanese the a is pronounced softer sort of like "ah" vs. "A" chinese pronounce it differently so it is like Jackie chans pronunciaiton.

It also has totally different meanings, in Japan, Chan is the diminutive of San, or Sama (like saying Mister) San, Sama Kun, Chan are all honorifics that are used to indicate a persons pecking order when addressing each other, Sama being the highest and you would only use in very formal instances, and chan or kun being ones you would use with either a very good friend, a lover, or some one much younger than you.

Pretty sure you would have to change the tailshaft on the tranny to a 4X4. Or just keep your 4R70W and swap just the motor.

Also FYI, stock boost on a HD is 6#, it's 8# on a L. The upper pulley on a HD is bigger than the one on a L.
