Any rims other than those stockers will give it a way better look and an awesome face lift.
Tint the windows
Upgrade the mirrors to the folding style
Aftermarket black lights and LED Corners

I know you stated off roading, but i would lower that thing to the ground.
That seems like a good way to go, but where I am lowering is asking to have my bumpers torn off, and window tints are illegal so that's cuts some of my options

Tint past 50% in MN is illeagal but every car or truck i owned had 13%-20% on them at any given time, i had an officer call for backup when i told him that as soon as he or the state starts making my F'N truck and Insurance Payments he can tell me what i can or cant do with my truck.
I never got a ticket that night lol

You can lower it with air suspension that way if your on a smooth cruisin road you can let her lay down, but when you get to an area where you know the roads are bad, bring it back up. And you can also compensate for a heavy load with that Air Suspension, it wont increase your payload but it will help keep it level and smooth the ride.

Don't. It'll make your truck look mega cheap and trashy and over done

Would you recommend it? I think if I did full gun metal grey and glossed it , it could look pretty good

White looks 50x better. If you PTM everything it flow way better than blacking everything out.
