To change the thermostat yes but I don't believe so with the other one.

No the CHT is a dry sensor. You'll need a special wrench or crows foot to get it out. Its located in the head under the intake right behind the T-stat housing.

Your code is caused by a bad CHT.

Yes, That's correct.

Usually when you get that DTC the coolant level is just a little low. That's the most common fix anyway and happens quite a bit. So check it..and check it again after driving it for after the engine reaches operating temp. That when the sensor will pick that up...and it does, all the time lol.

edit: -Yes, the weather can enhance the problem. Tank may read fine cold, but low warm. Regardless, add little bit if you can. No what I'm saying? - Do that before going after the CHT. CHT= no fun without the correct tool.

Right there, on the right. White connector. They have their own separate harness. That's so you can pull the engine harness easily when need be. Yea, Ford thought of that!

At least, that's what I've choose to believe anyway.

You got it. It's possible to remove that sensor without removing the intake. But man, like Crazy mentioned, you have to come up with your own way lol. I've done before, but I can't recall what was removed. I know the alt was removed, - crows foot is great idea, I can see how that might work. Think I cracked it loose w/a stubby wrench. Once it's loose...

Yea, the intake manifold is in the way. But it is doable.
