no ii don't even think you can put a plow on an f150 maybe an f-150 7700 though
some one might have more experience than i do with plows but you should be able to put one on a f150 7700

Well the short version is, will it be worth it to you? I would weigh the options, and then make a decision. First, how much snow do you have to plow? Next, how much will it cost to install the plow on the cheap? How much to do it correctly? What condition is the truck in? Is this your only vehicle or a vehicle that will become a work truck? Are you planning on making money by plowing for others? Would another option such as a snow blower or tractor with a plow be a better option? And finally how often does it snow where you are? The second question depends on the suspension on the truck. If you have the heavy duty springs you can do so without modifications. Otherwise, from what I've seen you'll need the heavy duty front springs. Without answers to these, it's hard to determine if it's a good idea for you to do put a plow on your truck.

Do you have a reg cab long box? I think that would work. check out this link its got lots of info.

i've heard that by putting a plow on a f150 over time bends the frame on the truck. the resistance of the snow bends it inward and if your truck was still under warrenty it would be voided. so its at your own risk. since its a 97 it wouldnt make a difference with the warranty but just know you will be bending the frame since its not a complete boxed in frame.

f150 plowing
half the time i dont even use four wheel drive but i do put about 300 pounds in the rear
western makes a plow specificaly for these trucks
so go for it

i have a 98 f-150 reg cab
western makes a lightweight plow that works great no bounce or problems except i think it increases rusting of engine parts like exhaust manifolds i have had mine since 1999 i only use it personally 200 foot drive way plus a couple of friends would not use it for a living just my opinion
