Just took the truck through a trip through the mountains, and she's popping out of 5th. Doesn't matter if I apply load to it or not, she will only stay in 5th for 30-60 seconds before just popping out. Is it a shift fork? Synchro? Something else? Mechanically inclined when it comes to the doing, just not the diagnosing. I have looked for videos on this and can't find anything that really helps. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, same thing as I couldn't find anything! Thanks in advance.

Is this in or out of over drive? Sometimes my truck will act up at higher speeds with over drive off, but I also have a bad trans.

Must be a manaul and the shift fork detent are warn. No quick easy fix.

It is a manual trans yes. Shifting is smooth going 1-4, and 5th will pop out.
