Default tow hook holes

Bought a set of tow hooks for my 99 2wd for 15 bucks and come to find out i dont have the holes to bolt them to the frame. What could i do?

Get out the ol drill and drill a couple holes for the mounting bolts.

Either one of you know the size of the hole? Bolt?

did your hooks not come with bolts and the little nut device that goes in the frame?

Yeah they did im just curious to see what size drill bit i need. Pulled all of it from the scrap yard. Great condition along with a new tailgate

well...use a drill chart if you got one. find the smallest hole the bolt will easily go thru. thats the drill size you need. if you dont have a drill chart ull take the nomial diameter of the bolt and match that to the drill bit...if you dont have a caliper of some sort use your eye, its ok to go a smidge big.

I put my first hole 2in back from the front of the frame horn, and the other at whatever the distance between the two holes on the hoooks.

make sure you drill the holes parallel with the frame...otherwise it will look wierd. Also take a grinder to the underside, its almost like the factory took 2 U's and welded them together to create a boxed horn...and slightly overlapped them so when I mounted mine they dont sit completely flat..but its not much and it does'nt bother me. just my .02 for ya.
