Default 2003 radio problem

I have 2003 f-150,sport, with a 4.2 l engine. My problem is the controls on the radio will only go up or one way. They are not fully functional in regards to the fade will go to the front speakers but will not go to back speakers.

Funds are too tight. The only thing I can see is a fuse relay in the #1 spot in fuse box, can't get it out but I have checked both fuse blocks and this is the last resort.

I got 100 bucks that if I was asking how would these rims look on my truck or can I fit these height tires under my truck there would be so many replies that I couldn't keep up with it. You guys really do suck!! I read that from a post about a week ago and was skeptical now I really think you guys are well,LAME!!!!!

I understand your frustration. I recently bought an '03 SCrew Lariat that had a sweet sounding 6 disc system. I believe it has aftermarket speakers, but the previous owner put the original HU back in before he/she sold it. I haven't checked for sure about the speakers, but for a truck, it had a great sounding system.

About 2 days after I got the truck, I finally went to load the changer. Epic FAIL. No matter what slot, it wouldn't accept a disc. So, I put my old crappy Dual XDVD8130 in. I really wanted the factory system to work...I liked the RDS and the changer. Plus, I thought it looked good.

I believe that most folks are telling you to go aftermarket is because of cost. I've looked around, and it would cost more to replace the changer mechanism in my system than a new system with all the harnesses and adapters from Crutchfield. Heck, a used system identical to mine off eBay is almost as much as new aftermarket, and it's a crap shoot as far as how long it will live. I've seen several sites online that offer new/near new OEM HU's, and they are quite spendy. Some are also offering the repair service, but once again, they cost more than new aftermarket.

I hope this explanation helps a little. I know it's frustrating...been there myself.

My OE radio on my 02 got bounced to the point where the entire radio was on the fritz and was scratching cds. I saved my wages for about 3 days, went out to Walmart and got a Pioneer unit that would work with my iPod. About a year and a half later, I discovered that while the Pioneer in the family Jeep (reason I got the Pioneer in the first place) wouldn't work with iPhones, which is what the entire family now had. I ended biting the bullet (per say) and yanking my Pioneer out and putting it in the Jeep. I then took another trip out to Walmart and got myself a Dual XD----- with Bluetooth and a USB cheaper than I had gotten the Pioneer for. One of my friends just recently showed up at my house asking me to help him get a $100 JVC into his 02 and he really does like it over stock. I love mine over stock. We may not have RDS anymore, but the fact that we only listen KVET and KASE when we are in Austin and Red Dirt Rebel when we are in Lubbock, we just use the apps on our iPhones to find out what's playing if we are that curious. But that's also when we aren't streaming RDR from our phones and using the USB or Bluetooth to play it through the stereo when we aren't in an area with decent radio stations.
