I used to own a 1995 F-150 a ways back, and since I have driven small cars because I commute. Then recently I got a job really close to home, so I made a HORRIBLE mistake and got a 98 Ram 1500. What junk.
I should have done more research on the truck and its known issues, like bad steering, bad transmissions, and rear ends.
So, I am asking for honesty, please... I am looking at getting a 01 F-150 4x4, 4.6L Auto, 4dr extra cab with about 44k on the odometer.

what are some of the known issues, problems I could expect?
Average MPG?
Tranmissions hold up well?
What can this thing tow as far as a camper?

I know my 95 with the 5.0L was nice... and missed it ever since.

Leaks around the windshield comes to mind. Water getting into the GEM module.

Quick fix for it? a Recall or Tech bulliten on it?
Thanks for the info. a leaking windsheild is still better than a F*'d up tranny.
