Parking Brake Light
I backed my truck up this morning without releasing the parking brake. After realizing it I pulled the release, but the brake light never went off and after going up the street a little piece the ABS light also came on. I didn't get home in time to take a look at it tonight. I thought I would see if anyone could give me some tips as to what it is and how to remedy it.

There used to be a switch on the parking brake actuator that turned on the parking brake lite, not sure about the ABS lite. Wondering if its a second warning that the emer brake is still on, you know circuitry stuff.

Not sure about that. I'm assuming that there must be a switch in the drivers side rear drum. But I honestly don't recall ever seeing it and I do my own brakes. I'm going to tear it open today and see what I find.

I had this same problem except i didn't drive with the e-brake on. Anyways there is a switch that the foot peddle should hit when you release the ebrake. That switch went bad on mine and wasn't contacting the peddle. You can see this switch by looking behind the release handle. It is a small one wire spring loadded switch. I think it cost me 6 buks or something like that.

hey sorry to hijack a thread but I have problems with my light only coming on intermittently when the parking brake is on. Would this be the same problem with the switch?
