Default paint

I just bought a hard top tonneu cover for my '98 F150, but it's the wrong color.
Where's the best place to buy matching paint, preferably spray paint

Suggest going to a body shop, they have the numbers and suppliers. Perhaps as a side job they will paint it for you.

You should be able to find a body shop that will do it for a fair price. I purchased a hood a couple years ago and had it sprayed for $50.

$50? Did they match it to match exact? With a clear coat? Either I got reamed or you got a helluva deal, I paid $137 to have a cowl induction hood painted 4 years ago....

And that was a just a mid level body shop....

I think I got a good deal! I had recently did a little other business with the same shop due to an accident. Drunk slammed into the side of my truck pulling out of a bar.

upstech76 you got a really good deal imo. I had to have a door painted to match and the body shop wanted $350. jr8x I would say get the color code off of you data tag which is located on the inside of the drivers door. This tag has the correct paint color number from Ford. Using this number you can find a close match from an auto store (Dupli-color comes to mind). Depending on how faded your paint is, it will come close to the body color. You will still have to color sand and clear coat the final product. I tried the paint on an area that I did not care about (rocker panel) to see if it would match. I thought the match on my truck was good enough and I use this method on areas that I am not overly concerned with, but the door that I mentioned did not look good and I had to have it done by a pro. I guess it comes down to how picky you are. Hope this helps, good luck.
