Overhead console not working

no power...
Ok I'll start by saying love the site it's awesome. Now I had the same prob with the over head console black screen did not work at all on my 02 f150 4x4 lariat. Its been that way for a few years. I read this forum and fixed it some what. 
Now I have the #2 problem with the temp. -40 degrees and ICE. I found the sensor cleaned it no change then I tested the connections and found that there was not any power to the sensor while the console was on. Do I need to take the console back apart? if so what do I need to check and if not where do I need to look for the problem at? Any suggestions?

Ok. I checked & cleaned the sensor ( witch I am assuming is also for the heater control outside temp display that does work on the king ranch ). I reflowed all of the solder joints just to be sure, and it still does the same thing ( -40/ ice ). So for now I fixed it using my redneck ingenuity. A little electrical tape over the temperature display and fixed (for now). Ha ha Thanks for the help everyone!

If you wanted it fixed, Im sure any mom and pop electronics shop or computer repair place can solder it for you in 5mins. Might even make their day giving them $10 to fix it. Times are tough for a lot of people and a little can go a long way.

Lariat and KR had temp on EATC, not on ovhd console. Only compass.
Maybe its been replaced andoand fudged with,maybe you have xlt with eatc added.? Do you have the homelink and travel note system?
