Saw a guy state when the solenoid for overdrive is put in that the band wont catch it and you have to use a tool to push it up when inserting the solenoid. I used a bent steak knife to hold it up, replaced the shift solenoid, put all 8 check ***** in, and new fluid and it is still no overdrive. How do you tell if the band is broken or glazed without removing the transmission? I can get another trans for $50 this weekend but dont like the idea of swapping it out only to have issues with another transmission and the cost of fluid is ridiculous.
