Default How do I compress rear brake caliper

I have a 2001 F150 2x4 with disc brakes in the rear. I need to change the pads and was wondering if the piston in the rear caliper needs to be rotated to compress or is it just like the front calipers where you just compress? If it needs to be rotated is it clockwise or counter clockwise? Is there a special tool to do this?

Just compress the pistons, leave one pad on and compress both pistons at same time, remember its best to open the bleeder and get rid of the old fluid. FYI, the pistons that had to be screwed into the calyper were a dual function hyd/mechanical brake. (parking brake). You should have seperate drum and shoes for emergency brake.
