Default oil light comes on in cold weather

I started noticing the oil light coming on when temps got below 40 degrees. On start up the light is off and blinks on and the gage will read no pressure. After the engine warms up the oil pressure goes right back to its normal position. I have a 2001 with a 5.4 with 120,000 miles, I also still run 5w 20 and change every 3000 miles. Anything to be worried about or anything I should do?

First off, Welcome to the Forum!

Does the motor make any unusual noises when the oil pressure reads zero? Any lifter noise or anything like that?

If not, it could just be the oil pressure sensor, if there are no noises I'd replace that as soon as possible just to be sure that you do have oil pressure. You could also get a mechanical oil pressure gauge and check the pressure that way.
