Default oil leak from above starter, possibly just valve cover gasket? PIC

on my 01 4.6l, i noticed the bottom of the trans was getting a little moist and checked it again today and seemed to be little more wet than usual. my first thought was damn, rear main, but thats def not the case. i pulled the inspection cover on the bottom of the bell housing it is dry. then moved over to the starter area and its def coming from above the starter, above the head gasket it appears. when i look up in there i can see what looks to be a sensor there, possibly that is leaking or valve cover gasket that is leaking. i been looking through the service manuals but i cant see a breakdown of that backside there. anyone have a similar experience with leaks in this area?

Change valve cover gaskets.. Hopefully not a cracked head or blown gasket. WHat does your oil level look like?

This is where my oil leak is running down passenger side of the transmission. My oil was normal. I'd like to find the leaking part do I know what to fix on mine! But mines a 5.4

on 5.4's and possibly 4.6's there was a milling mistake at the factory and the block is burred....leak is very common, my 5.4 leaks. Solution is new head gaskets and resurfacing heads

that's my take on the situation...countless threads and angry ford owners out there

yea my pcv is good, just changed it about 6 months ago. soon as i got most of the cables and stuff removed out of the way and reached back there, it was pretty much soaked at the valve cover. then once i got it all the way off i could tell that someone had repaired it at some point and now it finally went south.
