The way they work is they are supposed to line up with the holes on the grille guard and the holes in the frame where the tow hooks mount (I don't believe 2wd has them). When you take out your tow hooks there is a little metal piece that the bolts thread into, DON'T LOSE THAT PIECE. I just had to drill the holes in the angle iron for my grill guard and to where it attaches to the frame. In doing this I got it to sit how I wanted it, most of these sit right up on the truck and I hate that so I made mine side out infront of the bumper.

Here is how mine is set up, I forgot that I did end up drilling 1 hole on the frame on each side because my bracket wasn't long enough to do it how I wanted it lol.
The ones for the top where a lot harder because they had to tuck behind the bumper and use the same mounting location as the bumper so that was a PITA to make up lol. I'm not a metal guy, I had to make my wood working tools work and so far all is good haha.
