2001 crank but no start; fuel pump check?
So my 2001 5.4 F150 with 130k cranked over but would not start two days ago.
After my shock wore off, I listened for the fuel pump kicking on but did not hear it.
After cycling the ignition multiple times, I finally heard the 1 second "buzz" of the pump, and then the truck fired up and ran fine. It ran fine for two days until today when it cranked but didn't start again.
I switched relays 301 and 304, to rule out a sticking fuel pump relay, and it didn't start. I made sure my PATS system was not malfunctioning by making sure the "theft" light was not on during cranking. Is there anything else that could be causing this OTHER than a fuel pump issue? I want to rule out everything before digging into the pump. Thanks for any help.

Disconnect your battery for a few minutes, then reconnect. Try it again. Might help.
Check your PSI on the fuel rail with a gauge. Turn the key and see if it gets to ~35 psi. Cycle the key without engaging the stater a few times, if it then goes to 35 your fuel pump is on the way out.
