I found a little trick to get them off.
First remove the screws in the wheel wells.
Second, remove the push plugs, one on each end of the rear flares, and one from the rear side of the front flares.
Third, start at either end of the flares and pull out and up. The flares are attached by clips to the fenders, but they will release if you pull up and out. Once you get the flares off, they may or may not take some of the clips along with them. Any clips that stay on the truck can be removed with a pair of pliers and a firm grip on them. Once they are removed, they snap back onto the flares easily. Reinstall the flares in reverse order. Don't be afraid to pull really hard on the clips once the flares are removed, I noticed the fender and quarter panels were about 1/8" thick, part of the reason our trucks tip 5k on the scale. FORD TOUGH!

Since your doing all the black out stuff grab a can of spray tint and spray your tail lights and your 3rd brake light. Did them on my Screw and love it!!

Today we hit awesome temps for the area, high 60's. I took that opportunity to remove my pin stripes. I planned on removing the door guards, but held off after slightly peeling one back. The double sided tape looked to be filthy, and in a poor state. For now they're staying. Has anyone else removed door guards from such an old truck? If so, how was the paint match? There's a bit of color difference under where the pin stripes were, but nothing a good clay and wax can't handle. On to the pics...
