Just the sound of the engine eating itself up, nothing to worry about.
My oldest brother brought his Ranger to me and said it was running bad, had no pickup, was noisy, was running hot, and would shut off at idle. Guess what? Only one quart of oil including the filter. Not only had he never checked the oil, he never changed the oil. What was left of the oil looked like chocolate syrup.
LOL
But the engine survived fine after a flush and oil change, and a severe scolding by me.
Fords are tough, anything else would have blown up. (2.5L - 4)
