On my 97 f-150 when I hit the gas pedal it acts like I'm barely pushing down on it unless I try to bury in into the floor then it seems like it is opening up all the way. I have recently replaced my coil packs spark plugs and wires thinking that would help but it didn't. Would it have something to do with the transmission or is there any way I can adjust my throttle linkage to shorten up the slack?

Made a difference in mine by getting rid of throttle cable slack.
You can use a couple of zip ties or a couple of "clam shell" fishing line weights.

Right, from your description it sounds like the cable is stretched. You can try choking it up behind the pedal, personally, I'd just get a new cable.

Being stretched and choking it up, chances are it'll start fraying next, then become sticky when then cable starts hanging up inside the casing...Up to you. Have to say, -many have just choked it up in the past for adjustment, - it's more-less a crutch that'll last for awhile...quite awhile.

Could be, but usually when the TPS goes south, you always get a DTC. At least IME.
