Default non responsive

On my 97 f-150 when I hit the gas pedal it acts like I'm barely pushing down on it unless I try to bury in into the floor then it seems like it is opening up all the way. I have recently replaced my coil packs spark plugs and wires thinking that would help but it didn't. Would it have something to do with the transmission or is there any way I can adjust my throttle linkage to shorten up the slack?

Made a difference in mine by getting rid of throttle cable slack.
You can use a couple of zip ties or a couple of "clam shell" fishing line weights.

hey dont knock the 4.2L! haha clifford is good on take off, and zooming in and out of traffic...... but seriously i would say the ziptie mod as mentioned earlier. you'll notice it caus the throttle body will open up more.
