Default New muffler. DIY? Or take it to a shop?

If I'm to do this myself I need to know if it would be safe to unplug any electrical components before I start welding. If you've done this before can you let me know? Or let me know if you think it's better to just take it to a shop.

I just cut out my muffler, went to autozone, and bought 3 pipes and just clamped them together! It's held up so far with no problems and sounds great!

Just remove one of the battery terminals if your worried before welding.

I just did I full magnaflow 3" exhaust and didn't disconnect the battery.

Oh yeah! Dang, I completely forgot about that as an option, haha. How much are the clamps?
