The title says it all I am new to this forum and to f150s I have owned a ranger my entire driving history and now that I am older and have a wife and child the ranger just isn't big enough I am looking at a 2001 5.4 4x4 with 213,214 miles on it good clean Carfax report nice clean looking truck seems to drive well and runs smooth my uses for this truck will mainly be my 17 mile round trip to work 6/7 days a week but I will use it to pull some bass boats and maybe a trip down a gravel road or two nothing major I am just wondering if there is anything I should look for impaticular I know rust but anything else? The 4wd works well no sludge that I could see? Am I missing anything?

Over 200k everything is a gamble.
Suspension should have all been replaced. Fluids should have all been changed. If you're in a rust area, look at the radiator support for rust.
If it runs and drives good and the price is right, get it.

5k and a truck for a 2001 with 213k miles? We must be in different areas... I bought my '97 scab with 160k miles for 5k. Looks clean though, as long as your happy with the deal that's all that matters.
