Question Need radio help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically, my radio has been messing up lately (by that I mean I would be driving with the CD player on and it would turn off and then a few seconds later it would turn on) and now it has stopped all together. Wont turn on or anything. I've checked ALL the fuses inside and out. The connections are correct and still there. I need advice!!!!!!!!

Check the radio ground, mine "looked" good but was just loose enough to break contact and not work then hit a bump and start working again. Had me stumped for a while. Hope this helps.

I agree with ghostrider. If its a bad ground it can shut off altogether. Worst case make a temporary ground and run it to the deck and try to power it on. Some decks have fuses on the.back that are separate from.the truck fuses, check those too if you haven't yet. Good luck.

I know it's not the radio. But the ground is a good idea! Anyone happen to know where the stereo is ground to in a 2000?

This may help some; https://www.f150forum.com/f30/97-03-...basics-154340/

Get a DMM and test the 12V supply and 12V ignition turn on; by using a ground in the truck(bolt on the seat, or soemthing that connects to the chassis).

If all that is good, proceed to use the "ground" from the radio harness and check the 12V supply and 12V ignition again.

Or use a light/circuit tester if a DMM is unavailable. They are all ran off ~12V, so the tester should work fine.

If could very well be the head unit itself. Mine went out after about 5 years of usage.
