Default Need a little efan help

So from what ive read is that the major downfall of e-fans is that they dont move air through the whole radiator so the vehicle temps stay higher.

I decided instead of just strapping these up to the radiator I am going to customize a fan shroud to fit the fans and better utilize the radiators surface area.

Like this:

My problem is I want to use the 4.2 radiator shroud in the picture instead of the 5.4 one under my hood but I dont know if it will bolt up over the radiator in my truck.

If anyone has any idea I would really appreciate it.

I used a single 18" fan and mounted it in the factory shroud and it works great. A lot of guys use the dual fans and mount them against the rad without a shroud and I think that's inefficient. I tow a very large tt and have had zero issues.

Will fiberglass be too heavy and hold up over time?

The 4.2 shroud may bolt up. Can't hurt to try

That is the exact reason I want to customize a shroud to better utilize the full radiator. What fan did you use?

I used a fan from a late 90s 4.6 cougar, turned out to be a less than a year old replacement fan based on the build sticker on it that was still like new.

It was lucky, a pretty much new replacement fan for $15. I think the fan is made by tyc if I remember correctly.
