Default Help: Transmission cooler/lines replacement

I have a leaking tranny cooler line and was considering upgrading the cooler at the same time.

My question: Will the factory cooler lines directly fit an aftermarket (or 6.0/7.3) transmission cooler? Or should I replace the factory hard lines with something else?

Although I think the connections are the same the location of them isn't the same so they would need to be relocated. There is a how to on Ligjtningrodder.com that list all the parts needed for the swap. 95% of people that install a PSD cooler go with the 7.3L it fits great and works. The 6.0L cooler is so big there are other mods that are needed to make it fit.

Thanks Wayne, I've seen the how to and I believe he used steel braided lines, but I wasn't sure if those connected to the factory lines or directly to the transmission. Just looking for some input on the methods that could be used.

I wouldnt use SS on the tranny lines unless you 100% wanted to.
I would get a set of 1/4NPT to -6 or -8an russel fittings (Twist-Lok)

Then use russell Twist-Lok Hose
http://www.jegs.com/i/Russell/799/63...70#moreDetails

Much easier to put where you want and work with. Cut and splice with a pair of scissors.

Im only using braided stainless on my high pressure stuff (200 + psi). SS braided for brake lines and steering pump to gear box. (Get somethign rated up to 1500psi

I appreciate the offer, but I am going to upgrade to a 7.3L cooler and modify my lines.
