Default Need color code for radio wiring

I'm trying to replace factory am/fm cassette stereo in 1999 f-150 with aftermarket cd player and the wiring harness doesn't match up. Does anyone know the color codes for the factory wiring harness? Thanks for your help.

allso if u have a factory radio chances are your harness has 2 connectors.
the one 2 the right the larger connector that connects to a factory amplifier.
u need to get a harness adapter to run the factoy amplifier to make it work

Default Different colored wires

I don't have a light green and pink wire in my harness. Is there another wire that can be used instead? Can I put both 12 volt wires together on the black and violet? Thanks

I can't help on the wiring but if you tap both leads to the switched accessory circuit then none of the stations will stay stored in memory, that's what the constant feed is usually for

there color codes are sooo screwed up.. whoever the hell did it was colorblind or just dumb as ****... The green and pink is more like green and black or dark purple or blue even .. and the tan and yellow is more like tan or light brown and white... And sometimes when it says purple they mean more like a pink or red... And vice versa... I've had the hardest time rewiring my lightning because the previous owner had like 4 different harnesses all hooked together and it's just a rats nest anywhere there is any kind of wiring done because obviously no one else could figure out fords dumbass thinking on what color is what... Who the hell hired that idiot at Ford .. I don't know? Must have been some ***** boss mad cause he didn't get his bonus or getting ready to put in his 2 weeks or something.... Like yeah, let's go and put Dave the color blind ******* in charge or electronics and wiring let's see how that goes over for u Ford . Could have just gave me my bonus... Now look at what u did . ... ... Seriously anytime I go to work on **** with wires I know it's gonna be a big ordeal and nightmare...

I hope the wiring factory harness is still intact. If it is use American International FWH-598 should plug into your factory harness in dash. It comes with wiring color codes for the FWH-598. Take the harness that comes with your player and match up color codes from each harness. Strip back wire and either solder or butt splice wires together, if soldering wires together don't for get to slide on heat shrink before soldering. Use a piece of split tubing and cover wire. Close with tie wraps. I prefer soldering because the diameter of harness will be less verses using butt splices unless you stager the butt splices but the harness will be longer.
