Cams and turbo's need a higher stall. Not way around it it. It will help drivability. Also somebody lied to you Motive doesnt make a 4.30 reverse cut gear. Trust me I looked. I ended up with 4.10's

That's what I was thinking. Although if it's a mild cam you could probaby use the stock converter and be just fine. When i get my cams, they are going to be very aggressive so ill probably go with a 2200+ stall. If you went with comp cams i think they list the recommended stall on their site.

I was just curious to what you had in mind! What's the specs on the cams?

Don't know where you guys are looking but JLP order both 4.30 rear (9.75) and front (8.8) gears for me from motive. Little over 800 total with both bearing, shim, and sleeve kits.

for the front just do a search on "high pinion" mount for 150's. The V10 came factory with 4.30's some years in the 10.25 and in the front(not sure of size on the 3/4 tons).

Actually went with custom ground cams from livernoise. Cost me about 300 bucks more but were designed form optimal mid range. Call "Dave" at Livernois and he will hook you up. He designed my whole valve train for the stage 3's.

The 7700's equipped with 4.30's were not 4wd. Nor has a 4.30 in a V10 ever had 4wd. I called Motive Directly several years ago when i did gears, and they didnt even offer a 4.30 Reverse cut. You can search high pinion buts its a low pinion diff, hence the reason its reverse cut. Somebody lied to you as 4.30 is not a option. I would trust someone at Randy's ring and pinion over a performance shop who doesnt directly specialize in 4wd's.

ALso the links you posted are for a 9.75. Those arent a problem. They are available, but its the 8.8 in the front where your going to have issues.

I am well aware of the reverse cut required for the front.

The 7700 were never offered with anything above 4.10's. The v10 250s did have 4.30s as an option. I would assume they are 2wd too.

I am having a problem finding them online, I'll double check with JLP to make sure. If not I'll just have the fronts made.
