If you're going to tune it yourself, Special Forces/Sniper Tuning is the only way to go if you need absolute control and you're doing it yourself. ..and you can learn it. SCT is my only other choice for other people tuning. It's the best software available and most pro shops use SCT so it would be easy to find a shop to figure out a problem if you should run into any. I did and spent several weekends figuring it out with help from Sniper. ..an outstanding company btw.

I was tuning 580-630rw from a Vortech & a 4.6 2v.

If I had to do it all over again I'd just use SCT and have the bugs worked out by someone else.

Thanks Sxynerd, but I will be doing almost all that myself with a little better software. Perks of being a Physics/Math instructor. I have access to pretty much any engineering software that NASA uses beside the TS stuff. If i do run into a problem I will check them out.

Im just now in the preparing stage and gather parts. Running a few simulations and doing the math.

Its not gonna be intended to race, 1/4 drag, or for show. Its simply because I want to tow more weight efficiently. I refuse to pay 50K for a new truck with everything I want, so my 03 is doing just that.

I've done several dyno runs right now with my upgraded internals and am pretty happy with the upgrade. Adding boost should get me where I want to be.

Crank (just forged lighting from 2000), Connecting rod with (4 bolt mains), heads and pistons. Wish I would have done a cam or 4V but oh well. The bottom end factory should hold 400rwhp no problem.

Ill post up the factory dyno results here in a min (this is with the upgraded internals).

I'm happy that you are going to do this. It will be pretty sweet when its done, and actually serve a purpose cough *guys that lift their trucks* cough.

I think you're the right guy for the task.

Will be watching and judging scrupulously.

Thanks Tackle , its going to be a learning process for me as well. I'm sort of new to turbocharging so I have a few M.E. friends who are helping out with the set up.

With all the hills and super steep grades where I live, I want to be able to tow my 8k load with no issues doing 65. That is the main reason for the upgrade. So far I am about 250 bucks in with the turbos and lots of 2-1/2" piping.
