My first truck
I have recently inherited my dads truck. Its a 97 F150 Lariat 4.6 4x4 super cab. There is no way im going to leave my new baby stock and so i came here for ideas/guidance/opinions on the things to come. I have a pretty good idea about what i want it to look like in the end and what i need to get there.
Things i want to do:
-6 inch lift (i have been looking at the fab tech kit)
-35 inch tires on 16x10 inch wheels
-Exhaust (Flowmaster Cat Back)
-Bed liner (Rhino liner)
-Grille Guard (Westin HDX)
-Tail light guards (also the Westin ones)
-Winch
-Skid plates
-Re gearing the differential (maybe if i feel like i want some more power after the lift)
-New stereo (speakers, subwoofer, etc.)
Thats pretty much all ive thought to do so far. The truck is in pretty much perfect condition aesthetically. It has had some mechanical problems in the past (had to put a new engine in it) but its all good now.
Please reply with any comments, suggestions, or questions and please dont make fun of me if i said anything wrong because im new here

first things first
I dont have the money right now to do all that at once. First i was thinking about finding some nice wheels, putting new tires on them then cranking the tbars to stuff them in there. Does this sound good? Will 35s on 16x10s fit? Can someone either tell me or link a thread on how to do this? I havent found it looking on my own. Also, if anyone has any wheels to sell i would love to take a look

Things i want to do:
-6 inch lift (i have been looking at the fab tech kit) For the price I'd go with a Zone 4" or 5". A lot cheaper and the 6" is a bit excessive for a 35" tire, IMO
-35 inch tires on 16x10 inch wheels
-Exhaust (Flowmaster Cat Back) Go with a straight through (Magnaflow, Borla, etc.)
-Bed liner (Rhino liner)
-Grille Guard (Westin HDX)
-Tail light guards (also the Westin ones)

You can fit 305/70 (33s), 315/75 (35s), or 325/80 (37s) on a 16x10.

33's will clear with the TB's turned up. You may need to trim the lower valance to keep from rubbing. Tackle one item at a time and before you know it, you'll have the truck you wanted. Its taken me 3 years to get mine right, but its a never ending project. Hope you enjoy your new Ford as much as I have mine.

Thanks for the help guys. So if i went with the 35s on the 16x10s what goes into making them work on my truck? This is definetely going to be what i focus on first but it might not be long before i lift it if i go with a cheaper shorter lift.

You won't fit the 35's until you lift at least 5-6 inches. If it were me, I'd save up and get the lift first. Your throwing $ away if you go small then decide to upgrade to a larger lift.

Really? I have tons of room with my (285/75r16) 33's and a crank on stock size wheels.

Maybe i will wait until i can afford both the tires and the lift at the same time so i can fit the 35s no problem. If i open up my search to include 4 inch lifts as well as 6s what kits should i be looking at? I also chose the 16x10 wheels because that was the recommended size for the fab tech kit so the wheel size is also subject to change in all this.
