After more reading, a 4v requires a 4v oil pump. 2v can run either. 4v will require a 15/16 pump (larger than 2v). If that's not what you have, then you have the wrong pump. Most the turbo 4v guys appear to be doing a GT500 oil pump and pickup tube (with an assumed stock oil pan) FRRP has a complete 4v oil pump & pickup setup too. May want to ask on lightningrodder, definitely a handfull of built 4v guys on there. Don't forget the cobra oil pump and pickup can be used too.

Also as mentioned in the links oil pickup positioning is critical, if it's incorrectly positioned then oil cavitation may occur and you'll have spun bearings. https://www.highpowermedia.com/ret-m...ump-cavitation

I'll be going Cometic MLS. N/A would probably be best with motorcraft.

Once I get to the engine - ill probably just stick to motorcraft gaskets and use some ARP head studs. Good insurance so I wont pop or lift a headgasket. I know Cometic is good stuff too, I think they have different thicknesses available for the 5.4.
