What makes you say that? I had magnaflows on my last truck which seen a few years of salty winters and the mufflers were still there when the exhaust around it needed to be replaced.
I don't get the big debate about mufflers. A muffler is a muffler man, some are loud some are not. Some are expensive, some are cheap and some are stainless steel and some will rust in a winter. The only thing I learned is generally you get what you pay for. I had trush welded on a car of mine a few years back and they had leaks in the mufflers right from the factory.
The only way you're going to get a "v8" sound is with quiet exhaust. The louder it's going to be, the more obvious and ricey your v6 is going to sound. A 50 series flowmaster would probably be fine, magnaflow makes a few mufflers too that are quiet but will still give it some kind of sound. It will never sound like a v8 but theres definatly a few options out there.

That's why you buy glasspacks, lol. Hard to screw up the making of a glasspack. What happened to your magnaflows? I loved mine. If they were louder, I would have a set on my truck right now.
