Yesterday was NOT our day with cars. After a whole auction debacle, we come home to my mother in law saying our f150 wouldn't shut off, even after taking the key completely out of the ignition. I have read SO many things as to what could cause this. The only thing I know for sure is we had to jump our battery a few time after the winter but haven't really had any issues with the driving or anything..until now. Mind you, we paid 800 bucks for this truck about a year and a half ago so anything major will mean a trip to the junk yard for old red. Any thoughts or advice would be great! I am not very mechanically inclined, however my husband, brother in law and father in law are so I can relay information. HELP!!!

It is a 1998 Ford f150 XTL v8 4.6l.
