Does anyone know what the backspacing/offset is on a stock 17" rim for a 97?

I think it was 4.5" backspacing and 14mm offset. Not 100% sure on that though.

the most your are gonna find off set wise in a 5x135 pattern is a 17x9 with a -12 offset. Anything wider or with more offset is gonna be 200+ a piece.

well like I said in earlier post I really want mt classic ii, but am also looking into pro COMp eagle alloy and other rims that look similar to the classics. All in the same 4.5-5 backspacing range. This will still stick out farther then my stock rims correct?

pro comp discontinued all of their 5x135 wheels as well the stock wheels are 17x7.5s (I think) with 4.5 inches of back spacing. So that means if you get a 17x9 with the same back spacing then it will stick out 1.5 inches more than your stock wheels do. Check out pacer 164s they look like the MT classics and have around a 4.5 inch back spacing with a -12 offset. So they will stick out 1.5 inches plus the 12 mm further than your stock wheels. What tires will you be running? That makes a difference on how much it looks like they stick out. It's hard to get alot of offset on these trucks without spending 200+ per wheel or using spacers

I have nitto terra grap on now and will be swapping onto the new rims but my next set will be mud terrain. The eagle alloy and ion alloy and pacers all have the basic same rim all in the same price range. Now the question is which is the best

I'm not sure what is the best to tell you the truth. I would personally choose pacer just because I have heard more about them than the other 2. And if you want something that looks like it sticks out check out some wider tires. Like jackedup2000 has stock rims (I think) but has like 12 inch wide tires or something like that so they stick out a good bit
