Loss of Electrical Power while driving
2001 Supercrew. When starting the truck for a trip home tonight, noticed the battery indicator was lit. Driving home tonight, it wasn't long before the ABS indicator also lit up. As it started to get darker, it appeared the the headlights were not as bright as they should have been. Found that we couldn't rollup a power window. Next indicator that illuminated was the air bag and that was right before the truck lost all power and we costed to a stop. Had to have it towed home. Looking for clues as to what it might be? Alternator? Something else? Anything that I can check myself?

I'd start by pulling the battery and alternator and getting them down to Autozone or wherever for a checkup. They'll test them for free and maybe give you a little something to work with.
Do you have a volt meter? Battery charger?

Open the alternator housing end and inspect the voltage regulator brushes and slip rings. Brushes WILL wear. Any make. Any model. You can purchase rebuild kit if that's the case. Keep the core OEM alternator if possible. Cheers.
