Loose Shifter R2 Trans
I have a 1995 F150 4x4 with the Mazda R2 transmission. The shifter is so loose all it does is flop around even in gear. I have ordered the $200.00 "kit" from Ford that includes the races that keep the shifter ball centered.
My question is: Is there a better way (aka cheaper) to fix this problem?
Also, what are the other issues known with this transmission? It came to a head when the trans did not want to stay in gear and then stopped going into gear at all.
