Why do I want to? Why not. I've only got 700 in the truck as it sets. It needs a new engine and a little body work. Availability of the engine will determine if I do it tho. As in if the local LKQ has one then I'm doing it. If not then I'll put a sohc engine in it. Either way less than 300 for either engine

Why not LOL, - hate to be the bearer of bad news, you won't make that happen. Not after that "why not" crack lol, but hey, give it a try....there's a few other die-hards that have attempted it. A V-10 swap is much more doable and it will last. I was going to go that route once but since the 2 valve is so easy and you can get all the power you need from it, nothing else makes sense. If you have the passion, patience time and cash go for it, hopefully it won't hurt too much. A total doner will increase your chances.

You are right about the coil pack to COP issue. when i did my swap i said screw the COP and just used my old coil packs. worked great. he could do the same if he wanted.
