Default lookin to buy a 97-03.... questions.

so im looking to buying a 97-03 either access cab or crew cab 4x4. is there a model year to look out for? such as problems or somethin better on one year then another?

also if someone could give me a run down of what fits and what hits as in tire size. i think i saw someone with a 3 inch BL and 37's.... is that possible. so basically im asking what are stock size tires.... what are biggest size u can fit with no lift? i was lookin at a rough country 4-5 inch lift... says will fit 35's. but its 1 grand.... if i can fit 37's on a 3'' BL thats what ill do

ive got an '02 stock tire size should be 265/75/r16 the biggest youll fit without any rub will prolly be a 33. ive got my t-bars cranked about 1.5" or 2" i cant remember but still not enough room to go higher than a 33.

Your talkin about a Ford man , there is no problems lol......

anyways....

IMO the RC lift isnt worth it. My buddy has one and his truck is lower than mine and i only have a 3" body lift...... You can fit 37s with a 3" but you will have to trim your valance and the inner fender , but its no big deal...... You will probaly need gears ...... i havnt got gears in mine , but its a stick shift so it helps me alot.......

hope you can find you a truck

go with the 99-03 rear range. Get an scab unless you need a screw. The screws are more expensive. The 5.4L is the better engine but expect to do exh. manifold studs at some point in the trucks life unless they have been done already. And the spark plugs are a B***h but other than that they are great trucks.

Oh ya, you can fit 33's stock with no rubbing on stock rims. Crank up your t-bars and put blocks or add-a-leaf in the back and you can run 35's

^^x2 I have no regrets with my screw at all. Actually I dont think that anyone I know with a screw has any regrets with them. You figure you only lose a foot of bed space and you get a foot inside. If you ever have more than person ridin with you I would say go for the screw and a 5.4 4wd and dont look back great trucks!

i dont think i will need what yall call a screw just an scab. i wont be in the back so no biggy hahah. and the price difference between a screw adn a scab is too much. so your saying do a 3 inch body lift, and 37's and it will be bigger then RC 5"??? and what about adding a winch bummper... wont u need special brackets for a 3 inch Body lift? also i was thinking 3 or 2 inch BL and some the RC 2.5'' level lift kit. and 36's or 37's. would that be best bang for buck? also anyone wiht pics of theirs with a 3 inch BL and 37's. glad to hear almost no problems and no major problems. cant wait..... ill probably be buying one in a month. (crossin my fingers ill have funds by then haha)
