Default Locked Ignition

Good morning All,

This morning my wife wanted to start my truck for me. She "accidentally" put her Focus key in my F150 ignition and tried to start it. When she realized what she did, she put my truck key in and now it won't budge.

Any ideas?

99 F150, 4.2 Canadian eh?

oh man this happens a lot with those focuses too, funny how a focus key caused it. On my old truck that happened so I just took a gigantic screw driver and pryed it until it started. I have also heard of people drilling the ignition out, with a drill bit and replacing it.

If i were you I would try to spray a little bit of WD-40 in there or something, maybe a tumbler or something got stuck and then insert the truck key in and out to try and loosen it up a bit.

Default Fixed!!!

I think I got lucky. I sprayed the hell out of the ignition with WD-40, gave it a few "love taps" with my BFH, put the key in and it started right up.

If it happens again, I will replace the cylinder.

It may not be a bad idea to do replace anyways when you get some free time. That and put yourself a can of WD40 and the BFH in the truck.
