Default Lightning swap parts list/advice

http://madenterprise.com/scparts.htm no longer exists, does anyone have a list of parts required for a Lightning swap?

I found a guy selling his complete Lightning engine, trans, and harness out of his totaled Lightning...I just want to make sure I get everything I need. (It was hit in the rear, so nothing I need should be damaged).

Will the Lightning PCM work in my truck, or do I just need to get my original PCM tuned/flashed? Also, what will it take to make the 4R100 work in my truck?

Thanks in advance guys!

I did a similar swap when I swapped an 03 Cobra Eaton into my 99 cobra, but that was just a top end swap with a tune, nothing to do with the tranny or bottom end.

If your swapping to the 4r100, you can use the L ecu. (Assuming you have a 2wd)
If your sticking with the 4r70w you'll use your ecu and have it programmed for the blower.

You need:
Blower, lower manifold, mid plate, intercooler, upper plenum, throttle body, intake & air box, intercooler reservoir and pump, hard lines for I/C, alternator & support bracket, pulley bridge, lower pulley, belt, heat exchanger, bracket & lines, water pump, fuel pump, pcv hoses.

I know I'm missing a thing or two, but you'll definitely need all those items.

Thanks! I'm 4wd, so the Lightning trans probably wont work for me. But it is a COMPLETE motor with everything still attached, I just want to make sure I get any hoses/lines that aren't attached to the motor.

Be sure to check out ibd2328's build "My TT 5.4 Build". He's using the 4r100 but had to do some major modifications & use an external controller for the trans. Can be done, but gets expensive. I'm doing an L swap on my 00 4x4 also. Collecting parts right now. Its great that you can get everything off one truck. Finding things individually is adding up $$ quickly.

I remember tracking down parts like you when I did the swap in my Cobra...that was the most frustrating part. But well worth it in the end!

I'm not sure I want to dive into the modifications necessary to run the Lightning 4r100...but I don't know how long my 4r70w is going to last. The truck has 298k miles on it, and I know the end is near for the engine/trans. That's why I'm collecting parts now in order to prepare for the inevitable, as well as improve on what I have when the time comes. The trans was rebuilt at one point, but I don't know how long ago...I'm just a sucker for boost.

LOL, I hear ya! Dave4x4 is running a Lentech tranny in his. Think I'm gonna do the same when mine gives up. I'm also installing a SuperDuty trans cooler to help out some. Found one on partsgeek.com for $48.

Good find, I bought one as well (from ebay) and it's sitting in the garage waiting for install.

I'll have to look into the Lentech tranny. Thanks again!
