Lightning headlights getting hot as HELL!
As the subject says, I just mounted my new lightning chrome headlights, drove up the street and back to check how well they were aimed and those suckers were HOT! They came with bulbs, cheap ones I assume because they were worse than the cheap ones already in my truck. I also tried to hated the aiming screws best I could to the factory lights but that resulted in terrible aiming. I took the housings out to switch the bulbs and aim them and the tops were so hot I could barley touch them and this is after less then 10 minutes of having them on. That cannot be normal. I put the factory ones back in and in comparison they seem MUCh cooler. I also put the bulbs I was running previously back in and the lightning housing was still very hot, so it cant be the bulb. Is that just how these housings are? If so, what causes them to get that much hotter than the factory? Can anyone tell me if theirs run hot? You can tell because you wont be able to put your hand on the kens cover.

Me neither, they get warn but not that warm. Perhaps you had just never touched your headlights after being on before or bit really thought about it and it just kinda surprised you

I haven't had time to mess around with them again, however I will soon. Question though, what brand of Lightning lights do you each have? Mine are from headlightsdepot.com and a labeled as "Eagle Eye".
Grassroots, you say Visteon SVT, is that the brand of yours? Hell they all look exactly the same.
