you can upgrade the factory grounds to a bigger gauge wire and clean the grounding surfaces and that'll do the same thing. why add more, when you can just improve and clean up what's already there? I'm sure they're dirty after years of being under the truck.

True, but it's easier to run new grounds. Electricity takes the path of least resistance. Besides, doubling up on grounds won't hurt anything.
