Default 2003 ext cab 4x4 new to me

I jus bought a 03 ext cab 4x4. Truck has 30,000 miles. The frame is rusty from the cab back as is the underside of the bed. I plan on pulling the bed off and sanding or whatever it takes. Any suggestions on what to coat with? Also have tire and rim questions? Truck has 16's. What is the bolt pattern and how big can I go w tires? Also can someone fill me in on leveling kit?

Not sure exactly what you mean by bolt pattern but it should be a 5lug

Bolt pattern is 5 by 135 and with no lift I have 285/75-16 hope that answers your question

What does the 135 stand for/mean? I'm just curious

bolt pattern for rims is 5x135. You can fit a 16in rim or bigger. A good tire size to run would be a 33" tire, which is a 285/75/16 or 305/70/16 if you stick with your 16in rims. You can fit 35s but its a tight squeeze and requires some trimming. As far as a leveling kit, I wouldn't recommend one for our year trucks. Just crank up the stock torsion bars under the truck. It does the same as a leveling kit, but a leveling kit just cranks the bars past stock and puts your cv joints at really back angles. If you crank your bars, you can squeese the 35s, but it would probably look better with 33s IMO

Its 135mm which is the spacing between the studs (center to center) and the truck will clear 33's with no problems.
