Lift question
I went to a shop the other day and got quoted on a lift. They said they could give me a fab tech 6 in lift for 1700 and install it for 800. I was thinking about putting it on myself so i could save myself 800. How hard is it to put on a lift besides grinding off the tabs i would think its fairly easy. Also does that sound like a fair price?
Thanks,
Randy

its reasonable man for that much though with the 800 you save putting it on which i have done not hard at all dirty and time consuming but i would go the true 6 inch skyjacker which for our trucks is the only lift with replacement rear springs...just my 2 cents pm me if you need anything

yeah anything but fagtech!! unless you just want it for looks.. they use chevy ball joints that fail all the time, I actually keep a spare ball joint in my glovebox because as soon as you hit dirt they just wanna break

^LIAR! Fabtech is one of the best. Mines been on for like 80,000 miles and I havent had 1 problem. Its seen some dirt in its day without any issues.
go with the fabtech, its a great lift.

thats why you spent the extra 10k on an fx4 so ford could build your lift cause you dont know the first ing thing about suspension when you could have invested that into a bad@$$$ longtravel kit like H&M.. Fagtech is crap look it up on any offroad forum where people actually test there lifts unlike mr. some dirt roads, haha yeah some dirt's fine what about some air?? After what I put my truck through those CHEVY parts that FAGTECH uses just doesnt cut it!!! see that ranger wheelie in my avitar thats in glamis its a little more hardcore than the appletrees you're used to weaving around washington

any suspension can fail its only as strong as the weakest link so if its a ball joint cv shaft axle yoke it dont matter what brand name is on it its still just as volnerable as the other so clean your panties and chill your self big ranger wheelie the skyjacker is better than the faBtech cuz it has rear replacement springs instead of blocks its also about 2300 total mine is an awesome lift and tough i do get air go through mud water sand slop brush anything i want really and have had no problems i personally dont think you know as much about suspension as you think you do but again thats an opinion you mught but i doubt it so cool your jets turbo its a forum not a back ally watch your mouth! pm if you got something to say to me and if anyone has any suspension questions!

^^ thanks guys.
Jbaer619=BAN
cool it mr. 18 posts. First of all, the fx4 has nothing to do with suspension, its simply a trim package with a limited slip. and it doesnt cost 10k more, especially when you shop for a deal on a USED truck. Also, i didnt say ROADS its seen DIRT. Its my DD I take pride in the way it looks, we dont play in the sand like you do So Cal. Out here you need your rig to articulate through trees, ruts and mud, have you seen mud before sandbox? Anyone can jump a truck (no offense Black^) Id like to see you wheel some washington mountain roads in your wheelie popping 3.slow.
It doesnt take any intelligence to insult, curse, and swear, i suggest you stop expressing your IQ through your poor word choice. We dont like Hotheads here.
sorry about the flame war bigred. dont listen to the intellectually challenged. fabtech makes a great product. like i said 80.000 miles without a problem.
